Tried to replace a light switch and now my hallway is a disco
I was in my apartment in Phoenix last weekend, swapping out an old switch for a dimmer. I turned off the breaker I thought was right, but I guess I was wrong because when I touched the wires, there was a loud pop and a bright flash. The new dimmer was fried, and now the light in the hall flickers on and off randomly. I had to call my landlord, who sent an electrician that cost me $150. Has anyone else mixed up their breakers and have a good way to double-check before you start?
