Why skipping a summit saved my solo trip
I see a lot of solo travelers online saying you should never quit a hike, even if you're hurt. I totally disagree, no hate. Last year, I was alone in the Andes and twisted my ankle near the top. Instead of pushing through like everyone says, I turned back and rested. That decision let me recover fast and actually enjoy the rest of my trip. If I had kept going, I might have needed a rescue or worse. So now I always put my health over some bragging rights, lol. Trust me, it's not worth the pain.
