Fixed my deadlift grip issue after 18 months of frustration
I started lifting about 2 years ago and my deadlift kept stalling at 275 lbs because the bar would slip out of my hands. Turns out I was gripping the bar wrong the whole time - using a standard overhand grip instead of a mixed grip. Took me a year and a half of failed sets and ripped calluses before a guy at the gym finally pointed it out. How long did it take you to figure out something that should have been obvious from day one?

Mixed grip is a bandaid though, hook grip is the real fix

Bro right, cause ripping your thumb skin off in the first rep is way more natural lol. I've seen dudes swear by hook grip until their nail beds look like ground beef. Mixed grip is just the path of least resistance for most of us who don't wanna deal with that circus. Hook grip works great for some folks but calling it the "real fix" is like saying tape is a bandaid for torn hands. They both get the job done in different ways.
