Three years of buying from one supplier and one bad batch changed everything

Had a guy at a trade show in Dallas tell me my MOQ was too low and I'd get burned eventually. Blew him off. Then last year got 500 units of phone cases that all started peeling after two weeks. Lost about $4k on returns. Now I test every batch myself before taking delivery. Who else checks samples before paying the full invoice?

Started doing the same thing after a similar mess with some charging cables that arrived with wrong voltage specs. Sample testing is a must now (if they can't provide a clean sample, that's a red flag right there). One thing that helped was asking for a random unit from the actual production run, not a polished demo piece. Also got a cheap multimeter and a caliper to check dimensions myself before approving the whole shipment.

Damn, @lilyb27 nailed it with the random unit thing. Tbh most of us learn the hard way.
