Fought with Alibaba suppliers for 3 weeks over a minimum order. Finally went with a US distributor instead.

I was trying to source these little silicone jar openers for a side hustle. Found a supplier on Alibaba who wanted a 5000 piece minimum at $0.12 each. I only needed 500 for a test run. Emailed back and forth for 3 weeks trying to negotiate it down. Got nowhere. Finally gave up and found a US distributor who would sell me 500 for $0.35 each but with free shipping. Lost a month of time. Anyone else find the Alibaba minimums just not worth the headache for small runs?
