Looked under the cap of a 2012 Civic last Tuesday and found clean oil but a cracked dipstick tube, which the seller tried to hide with zip ties. Anyone else ever find a creative cover-up that had nothing to do with the usual red flags?
I kept getting cars that smelled fine at first but had that weird heavy wax hiding rust underneath. Found out last month if you run your hand along the door jambs and feel for rough spots or over-spray, you can catch bondo work before you buy. Has anyone else found paint mismatches in direct sunlight that saved them from a bad deal?
Bought a 2010 Honda Civic with 60k miles from a little lot off I-35. Owner swore it was an old lady's car. Transmission died at 63k miles, mechanic said the odometer was definitely rolled back. Cost me $2,800 to fix. Anyone else caught a dealer fudging mileage like that?
