Finally broke a 315 pound bench after 2 years of grinding

I hit 315 on bench last Tuesday and it caught me off guard because I wasn't even going for it, just doing some heavy singles and the bar went up smoother than I expected. Been stuck at 295 for like 18 months, so seeing that number on the plates felt like a complete fluke until I repped it again on Friday. Anyone else hit a plateau forever and then bust through it randomly without a special program?

295 for 18 months sounds like you weren't pushing hard enough.

Slow and steady wins the race though. Some of us have lives and jobs and can't just grind every day. 295 for 18 months is still solid progress, a lot of people quit way sooner than that.
