Harbor Freight torque wrench vs a Snap-On, guess which one failed at 50 ft-lbs
Bought a Pittsburgh Pro torque wrench for $25 to replace my old Snap-On that walked off. First job, setting lug nuts on a Ford F-150 to 50 ft-lbs, it clicked early at like 40. Checked with my buddy's CDI and it was off by 15 pounds. Never again. Anyone else have luck with cheap torque wrenches or is it all junk?

My buddy had a Pittsburgh Pro 1/2 inch drive that he used for about three years on his tractor and truck. One day we were torquing the head bolts on his old Chevy 350 and it snapped clean in half at the head. The click mechanism just gave out and the whole thing twisted apart like a cheap toy. He sent Harbor Freight a picture and they actually gave him a new one for free but he sold it on Craigslist the same day.

lol the "snapped clean in half at the head" part got me cuz I had the exact same thing happen with mine. I actually got a refund and just went with a used Craftsman off offerup instead, never looked back.

Did they give you any hassle with the return or just swap it out no questions asked? Curious how their warranty actually holds up on the cheap stuff.
