Showerthought: I used to think I could paint my own kitchen cabinets with a cheap roller and leftover paint. After my 'peel and stick' disaster last month, I'm never skipping primer again.

Jamie712 is right about the boring prep, but sometimes you learn more from the disaster than the perfect job.

That's basically how you learn all home repair. The shortcut always ends up being the longest, most annoying route. Now I just accept the boring prep work as part of the deal.
