Serious question, is anyone else completely over the 'perfectly smooth' digital painting style?
I used to spend hours trying to make every single piece look like a slick, airbrushed magazine cover, especially when I first got my Wacom tablet back in 2018. Now, I'm all about leaving in brush strokes and texture, because it feels more like real art and less like a stock photo. The change happened after I saw an artist in a local Portland gallery mixing digital and traditional marks, and it just clicked for me. Has anyone else made a big switch in their artistic style like that?

Totally get that... used to be all about the smooth look too.

But honestly, is it that deep? I see what you mean, @sandra412, and I get liking a certain style. It just feels like people make a huge deal over every little change. It's just hair or clothes or whatever, not a life choice. We all switch up what we like over time. Seems weird to act like picking one look means you're locked in forever.

You're not wrong @shane_williams4, I've got a drawer full of clothes that prove I commit to nothing. Last week I was a punk rocker, this week I look like I raided a grandpa's closet oops.
