Noticed a huge jump in my coloring quality after switching to a different brush pack

I've been doing digital portraits for about 2 years now and always felt like my rendering was kinda muddy. Last month I grabbed a brush set from a pro artist on a whim, just a $15 pack of like 12 brushes. The difference in how the paint blends and holds edges was night and day compared to the default Procreate brushes I was using. Anyone else have a similar experience where one tool change just clicked everything into place?

My friend Sarah was stuck on the same muddy look for months, couldn't get her skin tones to blend right. She finally tried a different brush pack and said it felt like the colors just started behaving, like the brush was doing half the work for her. Now she swears she'll never go back to defaults again.

You know, that reminds me of my neighbor who was trying to fix up an old rocking chair. He spent weeks sanding and staining it, but the finish always came out blotchy and uneven. Finally someone told him to try a different type of sandpaper, something about the grit being too coarse for the wood. He switched to a finer grit and suddenly the stain went on smooth as butter. He said it was like the wood was finally cooperating with him, not fighting back. Sometimes it's just about finding the right tool that matches what you're working with.
