My Wacom pen stopped working halfway through a client's portrait last night, so I had to finish the whole thing with my mouse.

Has anyone else had a tablet pen just die on them, and what's your emergency backup plan?

Always keep a cheap backup pen in your drawer, it saved me more than once. Finishing with a mouse sounds like a special kind of torture, you have my sympathy. For now, try the basic fixes like rebooting and re-pairing the pen.

Actually, Wacom pens don't need pairing, but @troy_reed is right about keeping a spare.
