Just learned the first digital art software was released in 1985
I read that on a tech history blog and it blew my mind, considering how basic the tools must have been. Anyone else have a favorite piece of 'vintage' digital art?

Grayperez, is that "plastic look" really accidental or just how they compensated for 8-bit limits?

Vintage digital art" makes me think of those old 3D rendered images that look creepy now. The software was so limited it gave everything that weird, plastic look on purpose. That's my favorite kind of accidental style.

Wait, 1985? That's before I was even born! I can't picture making art on a computer that old, the screen was probably just black and green. They must have had the patience of a saint to draw anything with those early tools.
