Hot take: Seeing a huge digital mural in a Detroit warehouse last year made me stop caring about perfect layers.

Perfect layers are what make a mural actually work, though. That Detroit piece probably had a solid base of clean lines and good color blocking underneath all the energy. Without that technical skill holding it together, big art just becomes a messy blur from any distance.

So you're saying all that wild spray paint magic is just a fancy paint by numbers? Guess I'll go tell my cousin his graffiti career needs more "good color blocking" and less soul.
