Why does nobody talk about hitting 50 business calls in a single week...

So I just finished up last week and realized I made 52 cold calls and follow-ups for my little printing shop here in Dearborn. I was honestly surprised because I usually cap out around 30 before I feel burnt out. But this time I had a bunch of leads from that small biz expo at the Masonic Temple, so I just kept dialing. The thing is, I closed exactly 4 new accounts from those calls, which is way better than my normal 1 or 2. But here's the debate part - some folks say you should focus on quality over quantity, like really prep for each call. Others say you just gotta grind through the numbers and let the numbers sort themselves out. I'm leaning toward the grind side because those 4 accounts came from calls I almost skipped. Has anyone else seen a big jump in results from just hitting a higher number of calls, or do you think I just got lucky?

You raise a good point about the grind versus the prep. One thing I noticed in my years running a small printing business is that the real value of high volume calls isn't just the closes themselves. It's the unexpected side effects. When I made 50 plus calls in a week, I started hearing the same objections over and over. That repetition helped me polish my pitch without any extra effort. Those 4 accounts you landed might have come from calls you almost skipped, but they probably also came from a better version of you that learned from the first 30 calls. The numbers sort things out, but they also sharpen your skills along the way.

Honestly @sandra916 nailed it with that point about hearing the same objections over and over. After my first 30 calls last week I started predicting every single pushback before they even said it, and my pitch got way tighter without me even trying. Tbh that repitition is probably what turned those last 20 calls into the ones that actually closed.
