That $40 marketing booklet from the chamber of commerce actually worked

I picked up this little guide at the Warren Chamber mixer last month, mostly because I felt bad for the vendor (you know how it is). I figured it'd be full of generic tips but there was this one section on targeted local Facebook ads that I tried for my power washing business. To my shock, I got 3 leads from a $25 ad run, which is way better than the flyers I've been dropping off. Anybody else find legit value in those chamber pamphlets or am I the weird one?

Man I used to think those chamber pamphlets were just filler for their welcome packets. I grabbed one last year for my landscaping company and figured it was gonna be all "network more" and "join committees" rubbish. But there was this solid breakdown on how to claim your Google Business profile properly and actually get it to show up for local searches. Tried it step by step and my calls doubled in two weeks. So yeah, you're not the weird one. Those things can actually have real meat if you get lucky with the right edition.

I mean I get why you found that useful, @craig.grant, but I still think most of that stuff is just recycled tips from free blog posts. The one I picked up had a section on "email marketing" that was literally just "send emails to your customers." I dunno, maybe it's just me but I'd rather spend that time reading a real case study from someone who actually runs a business like mine.

Wow, that's wild you got results that fast from a chamber booklet. I've seen some people talk about those guides being hit or miss, but @evangarcia has a point about recycled tips being common. Sounds like you lucked out with a genuinely useful edition though.
