Hot take: The new 'vibe' at that old Corktown deli after the rebrand is just confusing
Went in for my usual corned beef last month and the whole place had these weird neon signs and a $15 avocado toast special, which felt like a totally different business from the spot I knew for 20 years.

Honestly it's like they saw me, a loyal corned beef fan, and decided I was the problem to solve. I walked in and the new vibe basically told me to leave, which, fair, my wardrobe is mostly decade-old band t-shirts. But you're right, it trades all its history for a trend that'll probably be over in a year. Feels like losing a neighborhood friend because they decided to get really into abstract art.

Erasing old regulars" is exactly it. Found a new deli with the same heart, just ignored the rebrand.

Yeah the $15 avocado toast thing really says it all. I mean it's not just a new menu, it feels like they're trying to erase the old regulars to get a different crowd. That corned beef crowd kept them alive for 20 years and now it's like they're an inconvenience. Maybe it works for money but it kills the soul of a place.
