Hot take: My office AC broke during the heatwave last Tuesday and I lost $600 in tenant walkthroughs
Honestly, the compressor failed right at noon when temps hit 95. I had to cancel 3 showings because the place felt like a sauna and one tenant straight up said 'no thanks' through the window. Anyone else deal with a building systems failure that cost you actual cash in lost business?

Did you try throwing a couple of those big industrial fans in the windows and just cranking them? I had a similar AC fail two summers ago and it saved a few showings long enough to close a deal.

Ngl I gotta push back on that one. Those industrial fans are loud as hell and buyers are gonna notice something feels off immediately. Plus if it's really hot outside you're just pushing around hot air, not actually cooling anything. Honest truth is most buyers can spot a bandaid fix like that from a mile away and it usually makes them more skeptical about the whole house. Tbh I'd rather cancel a showing and explain why than have someone walk through a sweating box with fans roaring and think I'm hiding bigger problems. Sometimes transparency is actually the better move long term.
