Had to choose between two office spaces in Ferndale last month

It was a cheaper spot on Woodward with no parking versus a pricier one near Nine Mile with a dedicated lot. We went with the parking, and our team's been on time every day since. Anyone else face a similar trade-off with location versus cost?

Read a study showing parking access cuts employee tardiness by half.

Ha, of course parking wins. My old boss would have picked the cheap spot and then just glared at us from the window when we circled the block for 20 minutes. Penny wise, pound foolish, as they say.

Flat out disagree with that study honestly. People who are already going to be late will find any excuse, and parking just gives them another one. Walking an extra 5 minutes from a cheap lot builds character and gets the blood moving before work anyway. Bosses who spring for premium parking are just enabling lazy habits and wasting company cash that could go toward actual raises or better equipment. Plus if everyone parks in the cheap lot, you all walk in together and build some team bonding complaining about the hike. Better for the bottom line and the culture in the long run.
