Finally realized I was wrong about cold emailing potential clients
For years I thought cold emailing was dead. I was sure nobody reads them and it just annoys people. Then last month my buddy who runs a printing shop in Dearborn showed me his numbers. He sends like 50 emails a week and gets 3 or 4 replies minimum. I asked him what his secret was and he said he keeps them under 5 sentences and always references something specific about the business he's emailing. I tried it myself with 10 local restaurants for my IT services and got 2 calls back. Feel kind of stupid for ignoring it this long. Anyone else changed their mind on a marketing tactic they swore was useless?

Yeah the under five sentences thing is key, I've noticed the same thing with emails I actually respond to. It's like people appreciate you not wasting their time so they give you a chance.

Man that's exactly what I found too. I started emailing property managers about my cleaning service, kept it to four sentences with a specific compliment about their building lobby, and saw replies go way up. It really is just about respecting their time upfront.
