Spent $600 on a dehumidifier for my crawlspace and it might save my house

My crawlspace in Portland had moisture issues for years but I ignored it. Finally hired a guy to check it and he found mold growing on the floor joists. I bought a big dehumidifier and ran a drainage line outside, three months later the air down there feels completely different. Has anyone else dealt with crawlspace moisture and did a dehumidifier actually fix long term problems for you?

Did you have to drain a whole new line or did you just run the bucket outside? I keep thinking about doing this in my basement but then I remember the 600 dollars part and my wallet starts crying. It sounds like you dodged a bullet though, mold on the floor joists is no joke.

Have you checked the crawlspace since the rains started back up? Curious if three months of dry weather is enough to tell or if you need a full year.
