Deciding if I should fix my washing machine or just buy a new one
My washing machine gave out last Thursday mid-cycle, water everywhere in my basement in Phoenix. The repair guy quoted me $380 to fix the motor. A new basic machine is like $500. Part of me thinks just drop the $380 since mine is only 4 years old. But the other part says spend the extra $120 and get something new with a warranty. What do you all think, fix or replace? Anyone dealt with this call before?

Have you actually checked if your home insurance might cover water damage from a broken machine like that? I had a neighbor in Mesa last year whose washer flooded and their policy actually paid for the repair and the water cleanup, not the full replacement but it helped a ton. Might be worth a phone call before you decide on either option. Also, $380 for a 4 year old machine feels steep to me, those basic parts usually run cheaper online if you're handy at all.

Insurance deductibles usually eat up any savings on stuff like that.

Jumping in to agree with @lisa_bennett because I had almost the same thing happen with our old washing machine. My deductible was 500 bucks, so the repair was still cheaper, but the water cleanup alone would have cost me a fortune if I hadn't called first. Also, that 380 quote for a part on a four year old machine sounds like a ripoff to me. I found the same part online for under 50 bucks and my son-in-law helped me swap it out in about an hour. It's worth a call to your agent and a quick search online before you drop that kind of money.
