A steady paycheck is tempting me away from my art studio dreams
I always said I'd never take a regular job so I could focus on my painting. Then my old boss called with a manager position that pays way more. Seeing my savings shrink each month has me really thinking about saying yes. But will a desk job kill my creative spark for good? Anyone else trade passion for stability and how did it go?

That "kill my creative spark" fear is so real. But what if the job just buys you time to figure your art out without the panic? Sometimes stability can be the thing that lets you create on your own terms later.

Ever feel like that stable ground lets you jump higher?

I used to worry a lot about a job killing my creative spark, just like that. But @kelly.parker is onto something with the stable ground idea. Having my bills covered by a regular paycheck took the panic out of my art. It let me write my bad poems on weekends without that desperate feeling, which actually made them better.
