The 5 minute timer trick actually fixed my morning chaos

Every morning I'd waste like 20 minutes just staring at my phone after my alarm went off. Tried that trick where you set a 5 minute timer for each task like making coffee or brushing teeth. Sounds dumb but after 3 days I was out the door by 7:15 instead of 7:45. Anybody else found a weird little hack that actually sticks?

That timer trick works because it turns a vague morning into a straight-up race. I do something similar but with my coffee maker's programmable timer set for 6:45. The sound of it starting forces me to get out of bed because I know if I don't, I'll have to microwave cold coffee later. Also started laying out my clothes the night before, which sounds too simple to matter but it saves me a solid five minutes of standing in my closet like an idiot. Pair that timer with a playlist that's exactly 23 minutes long and you've got a whole system.

Totally get what you mean about the playlist timing thing, that's actually Genius. I do the same with a podcast set to auto-play right at 6:50 so my brain knows it has exactly 20 minutes to get out the door. It's honestly such a relief to know other people have these little hacks to keep mornings from feeling like a disaster.

Yo what up, sorry to nitpick but the timer trick is actually supposed to be for each task not the whole morning. @rosel83 youre right about the podcast thing though, that's a solid system. I tried the 5 minute timer thing wrong at first and just set one timer for 5 minutes thinking it would magically get me out the door. Learned my lesson when I was still in my pajamas with dry hair and it went off. Gotta do separate timers for separate things or it falls apart quick.
