Switched from a manual can opener to an electric one last month and I'm never going back

The manual one always left those jagged edges that I'd somehow cut myself on every single time, plus my wrist would ache after opening three cans for chili. Has anyone else made the switch or am I just late to the party?

My dad's old electric one lasted 20 years before it finally gave up.

Man, that's a solid run for any mower. If it was a toro or an older craftsman, those were built heavy. When mine finally died, I just swapped the battery pack myself instead of tossing the whole thing. You can find replacement batteries on amazon for like 50 bucks, and it's usually just a few screws. Might be worth checking if your dad's old one is repairable too, saved me from buying a new one for a few more years.
