Used to call Comcast support for every billing error, now I just handle it online

For about three years I would call their 800 number every time my bill jumped $15 or $20. Last October I spent two hours on hold, got disconnected, and the next rep told me they had no record of my previous call. Now I use their online chat feature instead. It saves me about 45 minutes per call, but the chat people still pretend they can't see the notes from the chat I had ten minutes earlier. Has anyone else had better luck with one method over the other?

Oh man, I feel this on a spiritual level. I once called Comcast because my bill went up $50 and they put me on hold for so long I literally fell asleep on the couch with the phone on my chest. Woke up two hours later to a dead battery and a confused cat sitting on my face. Now I just use the app and pretend I'm a tech wizard who knows how to navigate their chatbot maze. It's still a pain but at least I can do it while eating cereal in my underwear.

The 47 minutes I spent on hold with AT&T last week felt like an eternity, but I was too stubborn to hang up. I started scrolling through old photos on my phone and ended up finding a picture of my dog in a tiny sombrero from three years ago, so at least there was a silver lining lol. The chatbot loop is insane too though, I once asked it about my data cap and it kept trying to sell me HBO Max instead. I swear these companies hire people who never answer and design bots that are allergic to giving straight answers. At this point I just pay the extra $20 and call it a "not losing my mind tax.
