Sat in a broken chair at a furniture store for 20 minutes before anyone spoke to me
I was at a big box store in Phoenix last Saturday, testing a recliner that had a snapped lever, and instead of flagging down a worker I just sat there timing how long it took for someone to notice, then the manager argued it was 'display wear' and refused a discount, so do I push for a refund through corporate or just eat the $180 and leave a bad review?

Whoa, you sat there for 20 minutes on purpose? That's some serious dedication to a broken chair. I'm honestly impressed you didn't just get up and find someone, because my patience runs out after about 90 seconds. But the real shocker is that manager doubling down and blaming it on "display wear." Like, yeah, of course it's display wear, that's the problem. The thing is literally broken, not just scuffed up. I'd push corporate just to make a point, but don't expect much. Maybe you get a gift card out of it if you're lucky.
