My internet was out for 3 days and the support rep told me to 'just use my phone's data' like that was a real fix.

Oh man, that's literally the worst. I once had a rep tell me to "try turning it off and on again" while I was on hold with them and my whole neighborhood's internet was down. I mean, what was I supposed to do, unplug the entire block? That's basically me trying to fix a flat tire by just sitting in the car and hoping harder. The persistence thing is real though, I had to call five times before someone finally admitted there was a squirrel chewing through the main line near my house.

My old ISP in Phoenix had me convinced for years that my constant drops were just "peak hour congestion." I used to accept that and just wait it out, honestly. Then one day a new neighbor's tech found a chewed-up cable junction box serving our whole block. Seeing that physical proof totally flipped my script on how these companies operate. Now I push for a line check immediately, because they'll never admit the infrastructure is falling apart on its own.

Ugh that's the worst advice ever. I had the same thing happen last month and I just kept calling back every day asking for a supervisor. Finally got a real tech scheduled who found a broken line at the pole. Took forever but being super persistent was the only thing that worked. They really hope you'll just give up.
