I used to just accept whatever the first rep told me, but after a $200 billing error with my cell provider, I started asking for supervisors.
The first person said they couldn't fix it, but a supervisor reversed the charge in five minutes. How do you guys handle it when the front line support just says no?

Two hundred dollars just sitting there? That's wild.

I mean, is it really that serious? Two hundred bucks isn't life-changing money for most people, you know? Like yeah, it's nice to have but it's not like someone found a winning lottery ticket or a stack of hundreds. People act like it's this huge deal but it's basically just a couple of nice dinners out or a tank of gas for a month. If it was a grand or something I'd get the shock, but two hundred? That's just "oh cool" territory, not "oh my god" territory.

Honestly, I gotta side with @jana_price on this one. Two hundred bucks is a nice surprise, sure, but it's not the kind of money that turns your world upside down. People act like finding that in a coat pocket is the same as hitting a jackpot or something. It's more like a little bonus that makes your day a bit easier, not something that changes your life. I get the excitement, but let's keep it in perspective.
