Was a hater of those bond repair treatments for years but now I'm a believer
I used to think Olaplex and K18 were just marketing hype for people with fried hair from bad bleach jobs. Then I had a client back in March who came in after some home box dye disaster that left her hair basically melting. I did a full K18 treatment on her after the corrective color and the difference was insane - her hair went from stretchy to actually holding shape. I'm talking like 6 uses over 2 months and her hair stopped breaking off completely. Has anyone else had a product they swore was snake oil that totally changed their mind after seeing real results?

The thing nobody talks about is how much your water quality matters with these treatments. Hard water has minerals that sit on top of the hair and block the bond builders from actually getting in. My sister tried Olaplex for months with zero results until she got a shower filter and suddenly it worked like magic. Maybe the people who swear these are snake oil just have bad tap water, not bad products.
