Three years ago I swore by the same 4 haircuts, last week I tried a razor cut for the first time

Ive been doing hair for like 12 years now and always stuck with shears for everything. Last month a client asked for a shaggy look and I panicked a little. Watched some videos online and finally grabbed a Feather razor from the supply store on Tuesday. Did the cut yesterday and honestly it was way easier than I thought. The texture came out nicer than when I try to layer with shears. Has anyone else switched tools after years of doing it one way?

A friend of mine named Sara actually went through something similar after a bad haircut last year, but it turned out she was also dealing with some major life stress at the same time. @kelly.emma, maybe there's more going on here than just a haircut, like a bad week or something piling up on her.
