That convention in Phoenix changed my blowout game

Went to IBS in Phoenix last spring and watched a stylist do a full blowout with just a paddle brush and no tension. She said 'grip the section like you're holding a baby bird.' Tried it on my next client and cut my drying time by almost 10 minutes. Anyone else pick up a weird technique from a demo that actually worked?

Oh man that baby bird thing is gold. I picked up something similar at a different demo where the stylist said to hold the section like you're petting a cat's head - light pressure but firm enough the section doesn't slip. Game changer for me because I used to death grip the brush and end up with frizz and weird tension lines. Now I get way smoother results and my wrist doesnt ache after a full day of blowouts. Also started using a boar bristle mix brush for the roots and it grabs way better than a paddle brush ever did.
