PSA: I proved you don't need fancy tools for a sleek bun

Everyone says you need all these heated brushes and special products to make a sleek bun stay put. I tried it on a client with just a basic comb and old bobby pins, and it worked better than I expected. Her hair is super thick, so I was worried, but after some teasing and patience, it looked clean and held all day. She actually told me it felt lighter and less stiff than when other stylists use a ton of gadgets. This got me thinking that maybe we overcomplicate simple styles with too much gear. I know it's not a huge deal, but it felt like a little win to rely on skill over stuff. Just wanted to share because it made my week a bit brighter.

Mastering a look with basic stuff feels more creative than buying another gadget.

My friend Sarah only owns three eyeshadow colors but does wild looks with them. She figured out how to mix them with lip balm to make new shades. That kind of limit really does push you to try new things.
