I finally bought that $400 UV gel lamp for my home kit after my old one died mid-set.

Some of my stylist friends say a pro-grade lamp is a must-have investment for quality and speed, while others think a cheaper $150 model does the exact same job, so what's your take on where to splurge and where to save on equipment?

Ugh, mid-set is the absolute worst time for a lamp to die. I feel your pain. My old cheap lamp took forever to cure anything, and I got more lifting. Upgrading to a stronger one was a game changer for how long my manis last. For something you use constantly, that extra power feels worth it.

Mid-set is the worst" is so true. I used to grab the cheapest lamp I could find, but after a gel set cured all wrinkly, I finally got it. The good one just works every time.
