Half my foils fell out at a wedding, should I own or blame?

Last Saturday at a hotel ballroom in Tacoma, I used a new bonder spray and the foils slid right off two heads before the color set. I refunded both bridesmaids $180 each and told them my mistake, but my coworker says that weakens the salon's rep. Do you own the error publicly or quietly correct it and move on?
