A wedding party of eight showed up with box dye disasters
Last Saturday, a bride and her seven bridesmaids came in for up-dos, but they'd all used box black dye the night before and it was patchy and green-toned. We had to do corrective color on every single person before we could even start styling. My coworker and I worked straight through lunch and didn't finish until almost 8 PM. Has anyone else had a big group come in with a color mess that threw your whole day off?

Wait, have you ever actually seen box black dye go green on someone's hair in person? @sarah268 I read somewhere that cheap black box dye has a blue-green base that shows up awful on porous hair, especially if someone's been coloring it before. So no, a simple toner wouldn't have fixed that mess. Toners work on yellow or orange tones, not patchy green spots all over eight heads of hair. Plus the bride probably didn't want to walk down the aisle looking like she'd been swimming in a chlorinated pool. Those girls probably spent a ton on dresses and flowers, the last thing they needed was 7 bridesmaids with swamp-colored hair in all their pictures. The salon had to do what they had to do, even if it wrecked their whole schedule.

Honestly that sounds like a bit much. Box dye isn't great but a whole corrective color process for eight people seems extreme. Couldn't they have just done a simple toner or something to get through the day? @cole_walker26's soccer team story sounds way more chaotic. Was the green really that bad or were you just being perfectionists?
