Wasted $400 on a video production agency that ghosted us
I hired a small firm in Phoenix to shoot a 2-minute internal comms video for our quarterly update. They took the money upfront, delivered rough footage that looked like it was shot on a phone, and then stopped answering emails. I don't know if this is normal for smaller agencies, but has anyone else been burned by paying half the fee before seeing final work?

Are you serious? "Pocket change for professional video work"? A lot of people don't have four hundred dollars to just throw away. That is a decent amount of money to most of us. And anyone asking for full payment upfront like that is already a huge warning sign. You shouldn't have to spend thousands to get a basic, two-minute video done right. These small outfits just take advantage of folks who are trying to save a buck, and it's plain wrong.

$400 for a 2 minute video from a Phoenix agency sounds like a red flag from the start. I mean, that's basically pocket change for professional video work, so I'd be surprised if they were legit in the first place. You probably got what you paid for even if they didn't finish, because real production houses charge way more than that for a couple hours of shooting. Did you check their portfolio or any reviews before handing over the money?
