That $500 annual report template I bought still sits unused
I mean, back in 2019 I dropped $500 on this fancy annual report template from a design agency. Thought it would save me hours every year when I needed to put together the shareholder letter and financial summaries. Turns out our CEO wants a completely different layout every single time anyway, so the template just collects dust in my Google Drive. Plus the font choices they picked looked great on mockups but terrible in PDF exports. Has anyone else wasted money on a corporate comms tool that seemed perfect but ended up being useless?

Did anyone actually check if that template works with your company's PDF software before buying? I learned that lesson the hard way with a press kit template that looked amazing in preview but turned into a corrupted mess every time I tried to export it. The design agencies always test on their fancy Macs with the latest software, not the clunky corporate systems most of us actually use. Worst part is you can't even resell the template or get a refund once you see the PDF export fail.
