Shoutout to my old method of writing press releases with a full committee review
I used to run every press release through 5 managers and legal before sending, which took 3 days. Last month I tried writing a quick draft, sharing it in a shared doc with a 2-hour comment deadline, and it got approved in half a day. Has anyone else cut down review cycles without getting in trouble?

Whoa that's basically the opposite of what I'd expect to work!

People usually assume the obvious fix is the right one, but real life doesn't work that way. I've seen this exact thing play out more than once where the counterintuitive approach actually gets results. The common sense method everyone tries first often fails because it ignores how people actually behave. Going against the grain can force you to think deeper and address the real issue instead of just the surface problem. It's easy to default to what feels safe, but that's usually what everybody else is already doing and getting nowhere with.
