Rant: our crisis playbook used to fit on one laminated card taped inside a cabinet door
Back in 2008 I was at a mid-size bank in Columbus and our whole crisis plan was one page: call the CEO, call legal, draft a statement, done. Now I sit in a 40-page doc with scenario trees, holding statements for 14 situations, and a lawyer who has to clear a tweet before I can post a reply to a customer. Part of it is social media, part of it is that a single angry post can hit the local news by lunch. I still keep a one-pager in my desk because when something blows up nobody reads 40 pages. Curious what other folks keep as their actual go-to when the phone starts ringing at 6am.
