Picked the plain text layoff email over the polished one and HR still brings it up
Last month I had to choose between our usual glossy template for a reduction in force notice or a plain three paragraph email with no logo, and I went plain because the copy team said the fancy version read like a sale. We got 40 replies from people thanking us for being straight with them, and one manager said it was the first time a company email didn't feel like a pitch. Curious if anyone else has pushed for plain text on the hard stuff and how leadership handled it.
