My old comms director's 'no internal email' rule backfired hard
She told me last spring to stop sending internal updates and only use Slack. I pushed back since half our field staff in Cleveland never check Slack. Three weeks later a safety memo about the new warehouse protocol never reached 40 people. They found out when a driver walked into the wrong loading bay and got stuck in a 2 hour delay. I rebuilt the email list and now I send both, but she still insists Slack is 'the future.' Has anyone else had a manager force a single channel and watch it blow up?
