Just realized my crisis comms plan had no name for the person actually answering the press line

During a product recall in Austin last month, I found myself standing in the parking lot at 6 AM with the CEO asking who handles the first media call, and all I could point to was a generic inbox, so I drafted a 3-person rotation on the spot, has anyone else built a plan without assigning the actual humans to the hot seats?

Laughing because I did the exact same thing with a data breach plan last year, except my "hot seat" was a shared cell phone that nobody remembered to charge, so the first call went straight to voicemail. The CFO finally bought us prepaid burners from a gas station and we wrote names on them with a sharpie, which is honestly how I'd run the whole company now if I could. Just slap some tape on the front of a phone and pray the person who answers actually knows what a press release is.
