Just learned that 70% of internal memos get ignored by employees within 48 hours
Saw that stat in a study from the Institute for Corporate Productivity and it made me wonder if we're all just shouting into the void with those quarterly updates - has anyone found a way to actually get people to read them?

A buddy of mine at a logistics firm told me their CEO tried everything to get people to read internal memos. Finally he started sending them as fake "urgent system update" alerts with a countdown timer. Said it felt dirty but the open rates shot up to like 80%. They even put a red banner at the top that said "action required." People clicked out of panic, not interest. Has anyone else tried tricking their coworkers into reading stuff?
