I skipped the town hall for a written memo, board picked the memo
Last quarter, our CEO wanted a live Q&A to announce the new org chart. I pushed for a short written brief instead, something staff could read on their own time. The CEO said no, town halls build trust. But we had 40% remote staff in Portland and nobody could make the 9am slot. I sent the memo anyway. VP called me Tuesday, said the board reviewed it and wants that format going forward. Anyone else fight for async comms against live events?
