Appreciation post: Our CEO killed their fancy all-hands script last quarter
For like 3 years our quarterly town halls were this super polished, vetted script with no real talk. Then our new comms director pushed to just let the CEO talk freestyle with Q&A from the floor. The difference was night and day. Engagement went up like 40% on the internal survey after the first unscripted one. Anyone else see a big shift when leadership stops reading from a teleprompter?

Good lord, imagine paying a CEO that much to just read lines like a game show host. Bet the shareholders would have a fit if they saw that waste of script money too.

Bet the shareholders would have a fit" lol, I don't know man, I think shareholders care more about results than how slick the presentation looks. Sometimes a looser, real talk format actually builds trust and shows the CEO knows their stuff without a safety net.
