Wrote off those cheap digital calipers from Amazon, then a 0.003" error cost me a whole run
I always figured a $25 pair of calipers was junk compared to my Mitutoyo, right up until mine got knocked off the bench and I had nothing else for a Tuesday night job. That cheap pair held dead on against my gauge blocks across 6 checks, and it caught a drift my good one had been hiding after a crash. Now I keep two cheap ones scattered around the machine and save the nice one for final checks, so what's the tool you swore off and ended up trusting?
