Warning: an old head at the Detroit shop told me my tool offsets were 'lazy' because I was only checking them at the start of a run.

Now I check after every 5 parts and my scrap rate dropped from like 8% to under 2%, anyone else do this or am I just paranoid now?

My old boss called my backup schedule lazy, now I do it daily. Sometimes the old heads know what they're talking about.

Oh man, that's rough. In my experience, daily backups can actually be overkill for a lot of setups and wear out drives faster. A weekly full backup with daily incremental saves is often the smarter move, but it totally depends on your data.

Old heads know what they're talking about" feels like a stretch here. Daily backups sound like overkill unless you're working with data that changes every single hour. That boss might have just been stuck in his ways, not actually right. A good schedule depends on your actual needs, not just doing more to prove you're not lazy.
