Vent: my tool setter probe got coolant soaked and threw off a whole batch of parts last Tuesday

I run a Haas VF-2 over at a shop near Akron, and last Tuesday my tool setter probe just started giving bad readings. Turns out the coolant had been slowly seeping into the connector over a few months, and I didn't catch it until after I ran 30 parts that were all off by like .005 on the z-axis. Now I gotta redo those parts and reset the probe, which is a pain. I should have been checking that connection more often, but it's easy to overlook when everything seems fine. Has anyone else had trouble with coolant getting into their probe wiring, or am I the only one dealing with this mess?

Did you try blowing it out with shop air first, or are you one of those people that just dives into blaming the coolant right away? Classic Haas problems, am I right?

Second shop I worked at, a guy spent a whole shift chasing a phantom overheat on a Haas VF-2. Only to realize the coolant line was just clogged with chips. Tbh @the_kai, I've been that guy who blamed the coolant first too, it happens to all of us. Sometimes the simplest fixes are the easiest to overlook when you're already frustrated.
