PSA: Bought a cheap set of parallels for $40 on Amazon
They looked okay out of the box but wore down after 3 setups. Had to re-zero every part and scrapped 2 pieces of aluminum before I caught it. Wasted about 4 hours of spindle time total. Anybody else get burned by bargain tooling?

Yikes, that 4 hours of wasted spindle time hurts just reading it. Definitely been there with cheap inserts chipping way too fast.

Four hours? Man, that stings. I had a run last month where a cheap insert shattered on the third pass and I didn't catch it quick enough - ended up scrapping a whole batch of parts. Ever have one of those days where you're just staring at the machine wondering if it's worth even turning the coolant back on?
